Anchor Hocking Moonstone Collection

I've been working on my latest set of dishes. I am fixed on the  Moonstone pattern from Anchor Hocking made between 1941 and 1945. So far I found my first plate at a garage sale for about ten cents. That was the first time I laid eyes on the pattern. I won this bid on ebay

I got 6 sherbert glasses at the Knights bridge antique mall in Northville
I am looking for the water goblets at my price
I have three of the luncheon plates I got at the Eastern Market Antique Mall

The plates are spectacular and tough to find at a reasonable price. Just found one on Etsy.
I need the teacups and saucers as well.
When a few more of my new pieces arrive I will show a table setting.

Antique Apollo Perfume Bottles

I found these little darlings on Etsy. Waiting for them to ship.
I first decided on a particular theme for my vanity set when I saw this set for auction from DuMouchelle's gallery. The estimate was a very affordable $100-$200. I went for my very first auction ever intending to go as high as two hundred and learned the bitter reality of the auction world. Sometimes things go MUCH MUCH higher than estimated! I backed off at $500.
I vowed then and there that I would acquire a complete antique filigree vanity set. I began researching and found the Apollo company. A company that produced spectacular pieces from 1902 to 1922.
I have a small mirrored tray that is Apollo and soon these two. Let the collecting begin!

I found these dazzling beauties at one of my favorite haunts, the Royal Oak Flea Market. Fingers crossed! Im posting them before they're mine. Oh I hope! I hope! I hope!
They look just amazing when the sun shines through them.
The crystals are cut and then etched with stars and flowers

1915 Singer Sewing Machine Parlor Model

I can remember my Granny teaching me to work her treadle singer. I fell in love instantly with the rhythm and whir and the old world simple mechanics. I wanted a beautiful antique singer one day. When she passed away hers was lost to me and I never imagined one this lovely. But when years later I visited an old friend of hers who had lived right behind her as I grew up. She had this treasure in her basement and gave it to me and my mother. I feel my grandmothers smile when I sit before it.
A few of the handles are broken but it takes nothing from the piece or sentiment.

Happy Birthday Dad!

This is the birthday cake that I made for my Dad. It is a Red Devil's Food cake with a layer of sliced strawberries atop the center layer of icing and the strawberry decor on the outside. It was spectacular! I ate much more than my share and cant wait to make another! Mmmmmm!

The recipe is just the Betty Crocker Red Devil's Food recipe from scratch and slice and add strawberries!

A Tisket, A Tasket, A Little Capo Basket...

Found this ADORABLE Capodimonte porcelain basket.  It's really too sweet to put anything inside.  I'm loving it by itself.

Lovely Pink Flowered China

A truly lovely set of Harmony House flowered china dishes, makes the nicest tea setting, don't you think?

 They really look like spring.

I'm starting an Etsy store soon- maybe these will go in.
