Work In Progress

Progress at the new house.

Its me- Helens' Mom, witing this posting, since I took the pics and posted everything.  This is fun.

Kitchen floor- really black stain, but you can see the wood grain through it.  The floor had some really bad marks that we couldn't sand out.  It wasn't my plan to go black, but the marks were too prominent.  I wonder if I'll like it after all.  We'll see.
Kitchen and breakfast nook again- I didn't
stain where the cabinets will be.  Don't worry, the bars will come down as soon as we're done and ready to move in.

Breakfast nook

This chandalier is the replacement for the one I traded Helen for.  Less French, but larger.  It took hours to dress.

Sun room chandalier dressed for Christmas- I couldn't resist

Former dining room chandalier, now in Helens' room.  Helen detail painted the ceiling medallion green and gold.  I think it looks FABULOUS!

Helens' room again.  Closet doors with brass embellishments.  Is this girl channeling Marie Antionette or what?

This is the chandalier in my room.  I know it's new, but I'm going for a 30's holywood glamour thing in my room.  I actually traded that FABULOUS french chandalier for it.  I'm not REALLY crazy.  I'll tell you the whole story later.

Another view of the newly refinished floors.

Again, the floors, including spots we couldn't sand out and my closet doors, which are like Helens, only unpainted.  I really think I like hers better, but everyone SCREAMS when I say I want to paint them.  What do you think?

Mikes floors.

Again, Mikes room, with marks we couldn't sand out either.

Close up of the floors (minus spots.  Beautiful).

Floor in my as yet unpainted office.  Still trying to make up my mind about the color.
